Chemistry

The central science — taught with the rigour and curiosity it deserves, for over two decades.

Course Pathways

Learn Chemistry at every stage

Junior (Std VI–VIII)

Our Junior Chemistry programme (Standard VI–VIII) introduces students to matter, atoms and reactions in a hands-on, curiosity-driven way. The aim is to build scientific thinking — observing, hypothesising and explaining — long before students meet the formal syllabus.

Topics covered

  • States of matter and atomic structure
  • Elements, compounds and mixtures
  • Introduction to the periodic table
  • Acids, bases and simple reactions
  • Basic laboratory skills and safety
O' Level

O' Level Chemistry at Samim's Tutorial covers the full Cambridge syllabus with an emphasis on understanding over memorisation. We start from atomic structure and bonding, build up through stoichiometry and the periodic table, and finish with organic chemistry and analytical techniques. Regular tests and past-paper practice ensure that students can apply their knowledge under exam conditions.

Topics covered

  • Atomic structure and chemical bonding
  • Stoichiometry and the mole concept
  • The periodic table and group chemistry
  • Acids, bases, salts and redox reactions
  • Electrolysis and chemical energetics
  • Organic chemistry — alkanes, alkenes, alcohols, polymers
  • Chemical analysis and experimental techniques

A' Level

A' Level Chemistry takes students into physical, inorganic and organic chemistry at depth. Our approach mirrors university-level thinking: mechanisms are understood, not memorised; calculations are derived, not plugged in. The course is rigorous and demanding, but the payoff is students who arrive at their first undergraduate chemistry class already ahead of the curve.

Topics covered

  • Atomic structure, bonding and intermolecular forces
  • Chemical energetics, kinetics and equilibria
  • Redox chemistry and electrochemistry
  • Periodicity and transition element chemistry
  • Organic chemistry — functional groups, mechanisms and synthesis
  • Analytical chemistry — spectroscopy and chromatography
  • Environmental and applied chemistry
