Accounting
From double-entry fundamentals to advanced financial reporting — accounting taught for understanding, not just format.
Course Pathways
Learn Accounting at every stage
Accounting is offered from O' Level onwards. Junior students interested in business subjects are encouraged to build a strong mathematics foundation, which makes the transition to Accounting far smoother.
O' Level Accounting introduces the language of business. We begin with the accounting equation and double-entry bookkeeping, then move through trial balances, adjustments, financial statements and interpretation. Every topic is practised with exam-style questions, and students learn the standard Cambridge formats by building them from first principles rather than memorising templates.
Topics covered
- The accounting equation and double-entry bookkeeping
- Books of original entry and ledgers
- Trial balance and correction of errors
- Bank reconciliation and control accounts
- Depreciation and irrecoverable debts
- Financial statements — sole trader, partnership and company
- Ratio analysis and interpretation of accounts
- Clubs and societies, incomplete records and manufacturing accounts
Exam papers
A' Level Accounting deepens and broadens the O' Level foundation. Students work through consolidated financial statements, cash flow statements, cost accounting and investment appraisal — the same toolkit used in professional qualifications such as ACCA and CIMA. Our graduates regularly move on to top business and accounting programmes at universities at home and abroad.

- Preparation of financial statements — limited companies
- Consolidated statements of financial position and income
