Additional Mathematics
The bridge to A' Level — for students who want to go further, faster.
Course Pathways
Learn Additional Mathematics at every stage
Our accelerated Junior stream introduces motivated Standard VI–VIII students to algebraic techniques and geometric reasoning beyond the standard curriculum. It is designed for students who plan to take Additional Mathematics at O' Level and want a head start on the underlying methods.
Topics covered
- Advanced arithmetic and surds
- Introductory algebra — polynomials and identities
- Extended geometry and proof
- Introduction to functions and graphs
Additional Mathematics is an optional Cambridge O' Level paper that extends and deepens the standard Mathematics course. We treat it as the natural bridge to A' Level: students learn calculus, advanced trigonometry, vectors and binomial expansions, gaining the toolkit they will need for the A' Level course. Our pass rate is consistently among the highest in Dhaka.
Topics covered
- Set notation and functions
- Quadratic equations and simultaneous equations
- Indices, surds and logarithms
- Binomial expansions
- Trigonometric identities and equations
- Differentiation and integration
- Vectors in two dimensions
- Relative velocity and kinematics
Exam papers
Additional Mathematics is an O' Level qualification. Students who complete it are strongly prepared to begin A' Level Mathematics — see our Mathematics subject page for the A' Level course.
